| Everbest Raises A$10,000 With Charity Print For Living Waters Calendar |
Building in progress |
Never one to say no to helping others, Everbest has once again proven that not only are they a successful printer, but also one with empathy and concern for the community which they work in.
Everbest’s donation of 1000 Living Waters Calendar last year was a resounding success with them raising close to A$10,000 towards the building fund for the Living Waters Hope Centre, a new Church building for Living Waters Church.
|
Living Waters Church has been around for twenty years and conducts its weekly services in the local Terrigal Primary School hall.
It has a Missions programme which supports indigenous communities in outback Australia, South Africa and the Philippines. The Church offers programmes for the local youth as well.
The new facility will offer the congregation and people from the local community a place of tranquility, where they can listen to Christian music, view dances and dramas to illustrate the Gospel in the main auditorium capable of seating 600. There will also be areas set aside for children, youth and counseling suites. This facility is designed to be the meeting area for everyone to catch up on everyday life and to relax.
|
“It is an ever present challenge to raise funds therefore the slow progress of the building programme. We appreciate Everbest’s generosity in support of the project and taking the first step to extend a helping hand to our community,” says Janet, Production Manager of Ken Duncan Panographs, publisher of Living Waters Calendars. There has been significant progress in the past year with regards to complying with the local Council regulation for retaining of land, installation of underground water tanks, and provision of electricity to site and delivery of steel framework for the centre.

| Nordic innovation - Innovation in pulp and paper is alive and kicking and living in the Nordic countries |
We hear the word 'innovation' a lot in this industry, but what is the true definition of the word? Is it simply a clever word for invention? Well after a little bit of investigating, it actually means a lot more that just inventing. Take the wheel for example, probably the most referred to invention of all time, but should the person who invented this genius addition to transport be called an inventor, or an innovator? Well the clever person who came up with the idea of the wheel was out smarted by the innovator who put it to use, because he put it on a cart and suddenly made getting around a whole lot easier. A wheel without a cart - is, well - a wheel without a cart, it might roll nicely down a hill, but it's not going to take you or your bags with it!
So innovation is first establishing the norm, investigating the limits and possibilities, then coming up with solutions that will make a difference in an attempt to revolutionize the norm.
|
Then comes the hard bit, putting the whole thing into practice, producing and then selling the idea – and the icing on the cake is the possibility of making money out of it.
In this article, we will see the few innovations going on in the Nordic region which are having a worldwide impact in the paper and pulp industry.
